Robert K Adams joined the Firm as a Partner in 2000 and oversees the Firm's litigation practice in Freeport, Grand Bahama. Robert is a seasoned advocate with a broad range of experience representing clients involved in complex contractual and labour disputes in the tourism and hospitality, banking, insurance, shipping, building, and construction industries.
Transactions on which he has recently worked include:
- Advising commercial airline operators on labour and industrial relations matters.
- Advising developers and operators of major hotels and resorts in Freeport, Grand Bahama and representing them in commercial and labour disputes.
- Advising time share and vacation club operators in Freeport, Grand Bahama and representing them in contentious commercial and labour matters.
- Representing leading Bahamian insurance companies and commercial banks in multi-million dollar disputes.
- Representing a syndicate of Lloyd's Underwriters in an admiralty collision dispute.
- Representing a leading Bahamian general contractor in multi-million dollar building and construction dispute.
Following his education at Buckingham University in England, Robert was admitted to the Bahamas Bar in 1994. He served as Acting Assistant Registrar General of The Bahamas during 1997. In 1999, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Licensing Authority for Freeport. Also, he has served as Acting Deputy Registrar of The Supreme Court during 1999 and 2001.
