Aliya G. Allen joined the firm in October 2007. She works principally in the areas of commercial and corporate law, securities, estate planning, and investment funds. Prior to joining the firm, Aliya was a counsel in the Attorney General's chambers.

Transactions on which she has worked include:

Restructuring a major financial institution's pension trust arrangements;

Advising a major financial institution on a private offering of mortgage bonds;

Preparation of complex shareholders agreement for an international mining company involved in a local joint venture;

Advising minority shareholders on the renegotiation of the company's credit facility; and

Preparation of constitutive documents for foundations on behalf of major financial institutional clients.

Aliya is a member of the Bahamas Financial Services Board's Foundations Working Group.
