Tony Hepburn joined the Firm in 1966. He is well known in the jurisdiction for his in-depth knowledge of corporate and commercial matters, including mutual funds and complex corporate matters. Tony has many years of experience with Trusts and similar matters, and he recently assisted the Government in drafting the Bahamas' Trustee Act, the Bill for the Purpose Trusts Act, and the Bill for the Private Foundations Act. Further, Tony is sought after for his expertise in structuring and financing real estate transactions.

Matters on which he has recently worked include:

• Establishing mutual funds investing in life settlement contracts.
• Advising on the proposed acquisition of one offshore bank and trust company by another such institution.
• Advising on complex trust structures.
• Establishing a facility for banks, trust companies and other institutions requiring secure storage of their records.
• Advising on the liquidation of a substantial offshore bank and trust company.
• Establishing a subdivision for single family homes in a gated community.

Tony Hepburn was educated at Mercers School and the College of Law, both in London, England. He was admitted as Solicitor of the High Courts of England, Wales and Jamaica in 1963, and has practised in The Bahamas since 1966. Tony is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
